A rescue dog with heart-shaped markings is hoping to find a loving home in time for Valentine’s Day.
Lilly, an eight-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier, has the love symbol around her right eye.
She was taken in by Dogs Trust in Darlington but despite her sweet personality, no one has come forward to give her a new home.
The charity has now appealed to the public for her perfect match to come forward in time for February 14.

Jake Flatman, assistant manager at Dogs Trust Darlington, said: “Lilly is an amazing dog with lots of character and we really hope she finds her true love soon.
“She has been at the rehoming centre for a few months and we don’t want her to become overlooked by potential owners, especially as we approach Valentine’s Day – a day dedicated to love.
“She absolutely adores human companionship and is house-trained too.
“Lilly gets on well with children over the age of 11 as she has lots of energy, but would prefer to be the only pet in the home.”
