A football ref literally made a mountain out of a mole hill when he gave a player the yellow card because he spotted – a DEAD MOLE on the pitch.
Shocked Sean Williams, 28, informed the official about the dead animal during an amateur match.
But instead of removing the animal, the ref gave him a yellow card and a £10 fine – for DISSENT.
The bizarre incident unfolded during a match between Cradley Town and rivals Shawbury United last Saturday.
Sean, from Darlaston, near Walsall, said: ”I couldn’t believe it. All I tried to do was show him [the ref] the dead mole but he couldn’t listen and just kept saying ‘Go away’.
”Even the away supporters and manager said it wasn’t right.”
The mole was finally removed from the pitch by a groundsman at the West Midlands Premier League match in Halesowen, West Mids.
