A sick rapist who attacked four women in a five year reign of terror has finally been jailed – for 21 YEARS.
Jeremy Philip Smith, 52, carried out rapes, attempted rapes, sexual assaults and physical abuse on his victims between 2005 and 2010.
Some of the terrified women were pinned to the floor as he carried out the vile attacks leaving them bruised, battered and mentally scarred.
In one savage attack Smith even used a WINE BOTTLE to sexually assault one of his vulnerable victims.
But his sick plot unravelled when one of the terrified women reported the abuse to police.
Smith was convicted of a total of 14 charges of rape, attempted rape, sexual assault and assault at Canterbury Crown Court on Monday 13 May.
And on Friday Judge Heather Norton handed Smith a 21 year prison sentence and told the rapist that he still posed a serious danger to women.
Judge Norton also added another six years on licence meaning the vile monster could face as long as 27 years behind bars.
As Smith was led away the judge praised the bravery of the victims – who were all present in the public gallery – for their courage in giving evidence at the trial.
Det Sergeant Matt Banks, from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate, said after the hearing that Smith was a “violent” and “controlling” man.
DS Banks said: “Smith is a violent, sexually aggressive and controlling man who over-powered these women and subjected them to horrendous ordeals.
“I am pleased he has been found guilty and this sentence means he will remain in prison – where he belongs – for a very long time.
“The reality is Smith continues to pose a very real threat to any woman he comes into contact with but at least this sentence will bring closure to his victims.”
