Tottenham Hotspur’s attacking midfielder Rafa van der Vaart will be fit to face AC Milan in tomorrow’s Champions League tie.
But Welsh winger Gareth Bale, who tormented Milan’s local rivals Inter earlier this season, is “touch and go”, according to Harry Redknapp.
The Spurs boss told the club’s website: “Rafa’s okay. He trained this morning and yesterday, and worked particularly hard yesterday. He came through with no problems and he’s available.
“Gareth trained this morning, his back is fine but he still felt a bit stiff in the the legs.
“We will wait until tomorrow to see how he is. It’s touch and go as to whether or not he’s fit enough to start the game.”
Spurs go into the second-leg tie at White Hart Lane with a one-nil advantage following their brilliant win in the San Siro last month.
The hotly-contested tie was settled by a moment of brilliance from Aaron Lennon who weaved his way through Milan’s defence before setting up Peter Crouch who cooly hit the back of the net.
Despite Spurs’ great goal the game will be remembered for the ugly confrontation between Milan’s Gennaro Gattuso and Spurs’ assistant manager Joe Jordan.
After exchanging insults, the little Italian head-butted the Scot – leading to a four match ban for Gattuso.
