A primary school has banned children from playing FOOTBALL because the children get too excited about the World Cup.
Epping Primary School in Epping, Essex, has stopped kids having a kickabout during their lunch times after some were heard using bad language and being rude to staff.
But angry parents have spoken out against the ban.
One parent said: “It’s unbelievable, especially during the World Cup.”
Another mum, who asked not to be named, said: “It’s so miserable of them.
“My boy told me it was because teachers were complaining they all got too excited about the World Cup, rather than the school’s excuse that some children were misbehaving.”
In a letter sent to parents, the school said it would “temporarily remove football from the
playground.”
Julie Taylor, chair of governors, said: “This is not a decision that has been taken lightly.
“Unfortunately this term there have been a number of incidents where some pupils have not adhered to the game rules, used inappropriate language and have been rude and disrespectful to members of staff.
“They were made aware that if the situation did not improve then football would be stopped.”
