A pregnant woman gave birth after her labour was triggered by a sound effect – at a Peter Andre concert.
Elisha Turner, 33, was watching the star on her due date when the singer began a rendition of James Bond songs featuring a gunshot sound.
The bang made her jump and she felt “a slight twinge” – but remained in the crowd because she was determined to hear her favourite track ‘Mysterious Girl’.
But half way through the song she dashed to the toilet and medics at the venue realised her contractions were just three minutes apart.
Elisha was rushed to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth, Devon, by St John Ambulance and gave birth to 7lbs 5oz boy Dylan the next day.
She said: “I’ve been a Peter Andre fan all my life, since he became famous in his teens. It was the first time I’ve ever seen him in concert.
“The sound of the gun made me jump and I then felt a bit funny. That’s when I thought something wasn’t right.
”I was a bit annoyed I didn’t get to see all of the concert. He could have waited a little bit longer.
“Dylan obviously liked the music and just wanted to come out and join in. It was certainly an experience.
”He was the best present I could have asked for. I’m loving being a mum – he’s made my life complete.”
Elisha attended the concert at Plymouth Pavilions in Plymouth with her mum Suzanne who bought the tickets as a birthday present last year – before she was pregnant.
The date of the gig was Friday, November 16 – the same day she was due.
Elisha, of Plymouth, said: ”I saw the midwife last Thursday and because there was no sign that the baby would make an appearance I decided to go to the show.
“Because it was my first child I didn’t really know what to expect.
”I was in a bit of pain so mum sat me on a chair in the bar area and got the St John Ambulance crew to help and phoned my midwife for advice.
“The St John crew took my blood pressure and said my contractions were about three minutes apart so I was taken to hospital.
“I’d love to see him in concert again and hopefully I won’t be pregnant next time.”
