This happy couple enjoyed a stroll through a stunning field of poppies as the weather created ideal conditions for a colourful display.
Steve Smith, 17, and Georgia Cobley, 16, were pictured in an ocean of red blooms at Colaton Raleigh in Devon.
The harsh winter, late spring and recent warm sunshine have combined to create ideal conditions for the plant.
A spokesman for the National Trust said: ”Poppies generally flower in late spring but we had such a harsh winter with deep frosts the timetable has been affected.
”A combination of a deep winter and some of the hot sunshine we’ve had recently has been perfect for the species.
”They are making a very strong showing but sometimes they only last a couple of days so it’s best to get out and enjoy them.”
Georgia said: ”It looks magical – blue skies and beautiful red poppies. It’s the perfect summer spot.”
