Police are hunting two teenage yobs who filmed themselves trapping a PIGEON in a carrier bag – before callously KICKING it to death.
The cruel thugs can be seen in the sickening video laughing and joking as one of them boots the defenceless bird “like a football” on a street in Nuneaton, Warks.
The two-minute clip begins with one of the young lads saying: “We have been on a pigeon hunt – do you want to look at our pigeon?”
They then zoom in on the helpless flapping bird in the blue carrier bag, which then momentarily escapes into a bush.
The tracksuit-wearing pair can then be seen chasing the terrified animal as one of the teenagers laughs: “Go and get him, you’ve got to get him mate.”
After catching the pigeon for a second time attempts to put it back in the bag fail as it calls out in distress.
One of the teens then joke “he’s a feisty one” before kicking the terrified bird at least three times – killing it instantly.
The lowlife pair are heard continuing to laugh while feathers can be seen scattered around the creature’s lifeless body.
A woman can then be heard shouting at the duo who continue to laugh replying: “It was killed by a cat. It’s just a pigeon.”
The footage, which was uploaded to Facebook , was flagged up to police and the RSPCA by disgusted wildlife sanctuary owner Geoff Grewcock, 62, on Friday (15/11).
Yesterday (Mon) Mr Grewcock, who runs Nuneaton Wildlife Sanctuary, said: “I was just horrified when I saw it – how can anybody do this to a poor defenceless animal?
“They are just laughing their heads off while he kicks the bird like a football – its sickening how they found it so hilarious.
“I’ve seen cases of animal cruelty before, but this is just shocking behaviour.
“They’ve taken the video down of Facebook now – but not before its been shared hundreds of times.
“We believe their names have been passed on to police, as local people have recognised them.
“We just hope that they are dealt with properly now.”
Officers are now urging anyone who may have information about the culprits to come forward.
A spokesperson for Warwickshire Police confirmed they were investigating the film, and a spokesperson for the RSCPA added: “We have received the footage and will investigate as we would any other case.
“If anyone knows anything that can help with our enquiries, we would urge them to call our information line on 0300 123 8018.
“All calls are treated in confidence.”
Well, clearly, they have the video and they have the names of the perpetrators – how hard is it for the police to do something about this when all the evidence has been virtually handed to them???
