The line-up for Piers Morgan’s hotly-anticipated US TV show has been announced with Ricky Gervais among the first guests.
Star of The Office Gervais, 49, will appear alongside Hollywood heavyweight George Clooney and ex-American Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice on the CNN show next Monday.
Other interviewees line-up for the nightly show include the former mayor of New York, Rudolph Giuliani, former presidential candidate Mitt Romney, and the musicians Kid Rock and Rod Stewart.
Reality TV stars Kim and Kourtney Kardashian and businessman Donald Trump and wife Melanie have also been lined up for the show.
Morgan has replaced veteran TV star Larry King as CNN’s flagship interviewer. The 45-year-old former News of the World editor has also pre-recorded an interview with chat show Queen Oprah Winfrey.
Filling the sizeable boots of King will be no small task with the 76-year-old ending his 25-year CNN tenure in December.
The start of Piers Morgan Tonight completes the Brit’s transformation from reviled tabloid editor to fully-fledged A-lister.
After being fired by The Mirror in 2004, Morgan has become a popular face on mainstream TV as a judge on Britain and America’s Got Talent while also hosting Pier Morgan’s Life Stories where he interviewed various celebrities including Cheryl Cole and Sir Elton John.
