A perverted octogenarian physiotherapist has been struck off after he groped and kissed dozens of elderly women patients in a care home.
Vile Dennis Williams, 87, molested a string of terminally ill patients over a six year period while working part-time at the home.
He pounced on the elderly women he was treating at Baglan Lodge Care Home in Port Talbot, Wales, between 2003 and 2009.
But despite the victims complaining about his behaviour, bosses at the care home ”ignored” their pleas for help.
Instead a senior nurse told carers to dress female patients in trousers when he came round because he ”couldn’t help himself” around them.
One 65-year-old resident – named ‘Patient C’ – suffered from multiple sclerosis, was fed through a tube and could not talk.
Carers told how Mr Williams groped her during an afternoon physiotherapy session.
Nadia Akasha, care assistant at the home, said: ”[Patient C] couldn’t move or speak to tell us when she was in distress but when I caught Mr Williams touching her I could see in her eyes she wasn’t happy.
”I told the matron about it but she told me off. She said she had received complaints before but she said he wouldn’t do anything like that.
”They all knew at the home – the nurses, the cook – they all knew he did it but no-one did anything.”
On another occasion Mr Williams was seen fondling Patient C’s chest and kissing her ”intimately” on the lips. She has since died.
The panel heard Williams ”snogged” Patient C and despite the incident being reported to the police no charges were brought.
Another victim, called Patient A, said Williams groped her naked breasts.
She told a carer: ”He put his hand inside my blouse and touched my breast.
Williams, from Ogmore-by-Sea, Bridgend, was struck off after a disciplinary hearing at the Health Professions Council (HPC) after being found guilty of misconduct.
He was also given a lifetime ban on practicing physiotherapy.
Chairman Elspeth Metcalfe said the women were ”perfect victims” for Williams because they were ”defenceless”.
She said: ”The women’s age, mental frailty and physical state meant they were rendered defenceless. It was an extremely serious breach of trust.”
