Peter Andre named as Britain’s best-loved celebrity dad

Peter Andre was today revealed as the nation’s best-loved celebrity dad.

The singer and TV personality pipped McBusted star Tom Fletcher to the post.

The Aussie crooner, 41, became a father for the third time in January when fianc? Emily MacDonagh gave birth to their daughter Amelia.

Andre already has two children, son Junior, nine, and daughter Princess Tiaamii, seven, with former wife Katie Price and was hailed as being a hands-on father.

Fletcher, the other seriously close contender was the front runner for the title until he was knocked off the top spot in the final days of the voting.

The singer-songwriter, 28, and his wife, Giovanna Falcone, welcomed their first son, Buzz, in March of this year.

The new dad has kept his fans regularly updated on his journey, breaking the news of his wife’s pregnancy and releasing a time-lapse video of her growing bump on his YouTube channel.

Prince William came third in the Doting Dad poll, as voted for by close to 2,000 British mums in the Bounty Celebrity Doting Dad Awards.

Lisa Penney, spokesmum for Bounty Parenting Club, said: “There’s nothing that melts hearts more than a dad clearly smitten with his new baby and although hotly contested this year, Peter’s popularity with everyday mums shows no signs of waning.

“Dads in the public eye are often hailed as being the nation’s favourites simply because of their good looks and celebrity status and not necessarily because of their personality or parenting skills.

“Real mums no doubt warm to Peter for his warm personality, the fact that he seems to have a down-to-earth, fun approach to parenting and clearly adores his family.”

Other new dads to make the top ten include former JLS star Marvin Humes and Hollyoaks and Strictly Come Dancing hunk Ashley Taylor Dawson.

Former Westlife singer Nicky Byrne, pop mogul Simon Cowell and Corrie actor Alan Halsall also made the top ten.

Famous males who became fathers in the past year but didn’t make the top 10 list were Kieran Hayler, the estranged husband of Katie Price, plus sports stars, Wayne Rooney and Mike Tindall.
