A Peeping Tom who spied on a couple having sex was caught red-handed after he got so aroused he blurted out: ”I’m watching you”, a court heard.
Pervert Brian Symons, 45, spotted the amorous couple making love in their front room with the curtains open and the lights on.
Symons initially walked by but decided to “go back for a closer look” and crept up to the house and watched them through the window.
But after ten minutes he became so excited he inadvertently muttered ”I’m watching you” and the horrified couple heard him.
They went to investigate and spotted Symons fleeing down the driveway, Torquay Magistrates Court was told.
Police later found his cigarette lighter and other “incriminating DNA” at the scene following the incident on August 13 in Torquay, Devon.
Symons, of Bristol, admitted one count of observing a person doing a private act for the purpose of sexual gratification.
He was told to sign the Sexual Offences Register and will be sentenced on January 7.
Philip Sewell, prosecution, said the couple were being intimate with one another.
He said: “About ten minutes later they heard a voice saying ‘I’m watching you’.
”They stopped what they were doing and the husband saw a man at the end of the driveway.”
Paul Dentith, mitigating, said Symons suffered from a number of illnesses and the offence was “opportunistic.”
He added: “The curtains were open and the lights were on.”
