An F1 fanatic has given his mobility scooter extra va va voom by customising it with alloy wheels and Ferrari merchandise.
Grandfather-of-two Reg Skelton, 74, suped-up the orange TGA Vita scooter and then kitted out the hotrod in Ferrari colours.
It features two of the famous prancing horse badges above the steering column, genuine Ferrari logos and polished alloy wheels with pneumatic tyres.
And Reg – despite the scooter having a top speed of just 8mph – is a common sight whizzing around town with a Ferrari jacket and hat.
Retired council worker Reg, who turned to the mobility scooter after suffering a heart attack, even has a team teddy mascot dressed as an F1 engineer on the handlebars.
Reg, of Weston-Super-Mare, Somerset, said: ”I love everything to do with Formula 1 and Ferrari. I never miss a Grand Prix on the TV.
”Lots of people around town stop me when I’m out and about and ask about the scooter.
”My daughter and two grandkids love it too, I think the colour helps.
”The Vita has also helped me also continue one of my other hobbies which involves photography of the local area, especially coastal sunsets.
”Being 74 and unfortunately not enjoying particularly good heath, my voluntary work at the hospital wouldn’t be possible without my Vita.”
Anyone looking for a really quick thrill should contact former F1 World Champion Jenson Button – who is currently selling his Nissan GT-R for £50,000.
My friend’s Kudos First K-series scooter is undergoing a Tottenham make-over with a full vinyl wrap. Makes scooters a lot more fun!
