A business mum on a mission to help other small business owners and sole traders has created a new online course to teach them how to get in the press.
The course called Publicity for Solopreneurs – available from today – teaches micro businesses a step-by-step process to tell their stories to the media. It includes nine video modules based on a campfire theme, with accompanying worksheets, templates and cheat sheets, plus access to a private Facebook group where they can get ongoing PR support.
‘I created this course because I believe small business owners are the silent engine powering the economy. These are individuals who choose to generate their own income rather than rely on an employer. They are living life on their terms, yet many battle to get noticed,’ explains Melissa Talago, founder of Campfire Communications and creator of Publicity for Solopreneurs. ‘This course will help them get their inspiring stories and expertise out there, and in so doing, help them grow.’
Through the course Melissa aims to make the idea of PR less scary for sole traders who typically lack the money to pay a PR company and who may lack to the confidence or knowledge of how to work effectively with the press.
