Mum of three, 50, ordered to leave horses’ paddocks because of her skimpy outfit

A mum-of-three has blasted racecourse bosses after snooty officials banned her – because she was wearing SHORTS.

Furious Diane Lloyd, 50, was ordered to leave the horses’ paddocks because her outfit was ”skimpy and inappropriate”.

Diane, who has attended every race meeting at Ludlow Racecourse over the last five years, paid £20 to enter the VIP area on April 25.

But she was shocked when a manager approached her before the race started and told her to change her clothes or leave.

Diane is now demanding an apology from the Shropshire racecourse, claiming officials ”humiliated” her.

Charity worker Diane, from Aston-on-Clun, Shrops., said: ”I was absolutely furious as I have been going to the races for years and have never been told to that I couldn’t wear shorts before.

”I genuinely did not know that there was a dress code.

”But there were loads of people wearing shorts and tracksuits and they weren’t pulled up and, if I was not following the dress code, then why didn’t someone say something when I paid at the gate?

”The whole incident was humiliating.”

Diane, who has been a member of the racecourse for over a decade, added: ”Unlike Ascot or Aintree, Ludlow is a local racecourse and I am well known by a lot of people who go.

”I have never had this problem before and I still feel very upset. There were girls in far more risqué outfits than me but were allowed to stay.”

Bob Davies, the clerk of the course, defended the decision to boot Diane out.

He said: ”What she was wearing was skimpy and inappropriate.

”We have a dress code which is not very strict – we do not demand collar and tie.

”But we do demand smart casual and do not accept torn clothes, sports clothing or rugby shirts.

”The dress code was politely pointed out and it was suggested that as she lived nearby she could go home, change and come back.”
