A proud mum has named her newborn daughter Amber ROSE after giving birth to her – in the front GARDEN.
Donna Neville, 29, was forced to welcome her third child into the world lying next to a rose bush on her lawn in front of shocked neighbours.
She began began having regular contractions at her home in Sandbach ,Cheshire, at 8.40pm on July 15 and was rushed to Leighton Hospital by husband Chris, 26.
But as she was only 2cm dilated she was turned away by doctors and sent back home with just a packet of pain killers.
Within ten minutes of pulling back up on her driveway Donna’s waters broke and it soon became clear the couple would not have enough time to get back to hospital.
Paramedics rushed to the scene to find Donna sprawled out on her front lawn – which Chris had laid just the day before.
Moments later little Amber Rose was delivered at 11.37pm weighing 8lbs by a medic – who only had enough time to get ONE glove on.
Donna revealed she decided to name the latest addition to her family after the “most beautiful flower” in her garden.
The IT support worker who already has a son Jordan, 13, and two-year-old daughter Isabella, said: “We were always going to call her Amber but considering the most beautiful flower is a rose and she was delivered next to a rose bush we thought it would be quite fitting.
“It was quite strange having to give birth on my front lawn – considering I had moved in about six weeks ago so I didn’t really know the neighbours.
“But I sure do now.
“It was a warm night so everyone had their windows open – I must have screamed the street down and everybody came out to have a good luck.
“It wasn’t the most private birth I’ve had – but it went fine and there were no issues.
“I had no pain relief and somehow managed to get myself into a zone and just deal with it.
“It was literally as I walked through the door after returning from the hospital, my waters broke, me and Chris were in a blind panic.
“Chris’ parents were looking after the children in the house, and they called an ambulance, but I just couldn’t hold on.
“We had only just put the turf down the day before so to give birth on it the next day was like we had prepared for it to happen there, but we certainly hadn’t.
“The ambulance arrived but the paramedic didn’t even have a chance to get his other glove on before Amber came out.
“The paramedic cut the cord and handed her to Chris, and then turned to me and said:’ I hope you get on well with your neighbours as they have all just watched you give birth.’
“Since then the neighbours have dropped in well-wishing cards and have even asked my eldest son if his mum is ‘the one who gave birth on the front lawn’.
“But at the end of the day, Amber Rose is happy and healthy and that is all that matters.”
Husband Chris, an online trader, added: “It was all a bit of blur – I’d just laid that lawn and it was lucky I did as she would have given birth on gravel otherwise.
“We’ve now planted an orange coloured rose bush in the garden next to other one – to mark the arrival of our little amber rose.”
