Mother, 39, who put a mouse trap in the kitchen catches an EXOTIC SNAKE

A mum who put a mousetrap in her kitchen woke up to find it had a caught – a giant exotic SNAKE.

Mother-of-two Rosalyn Barzey, 39, placed the rodent trap – a large sticky pad – near her fridge to catch mice.

But the next day she found a 2ft orange corn snake – an escaped pet native to North America – stuck there instead.

NHS worker Rosalyn, of Dagenham, East London, said: “I put the rat trap down to catch mice. I know the glue on the pads is very strong.

“I just didn’t expect it would be strong enough to catch a snake. I was absolutely petrified, I hate snakes.”

An RSPCA spokesperson said: “The snake, which is a brown corn snake about two feet long, is being cared for by specialists.”
