Eight out of ten viewers of I’m A Celebrity reckon Gillian McKeith faked her faint on Sunday night’s show, a survey revealed today.
The flaky TV nutritionist, 51, collapsed in front of hosts Ant and Dec after she was selected for the live ‘Unfairground’ trial – her seventh of the series.
Earlier in the programme, she had refused to take part in a trial, telling presenters she was ‘mentally exhausted’.
A study of 1,000 viewers by OnePoll revealed just eight per cent believe she genuinely fainted.
And a staggering 96 per cent reckon she is exaggerating her phobias ‘to grab attention’.
A spokesman for Onepoll.com said: ”Every year, there are some celebrities who have to face their fears during the bushtucker trials, but Gillian seems to be taking it to another level.
”She’s not only scared of taking part in the gruesome trials, but she screams every time a fly goes near her and shuffles slowly across the high bridges because she is also afraid of heights.
”I’m A Celebrity has been on our screens for years now, so the obvious question is what is she doing there in the first place if she is so petrified of everything.
”Even if you haven’t watched the show, the fact that it is filmed in the jungle means there are going to be plenty of bugs and creatures around – not great for someone who claims to have a crippling fear of insects.”
The poll also revealed 64 per cent think Gillian should be kicked off the show, with 37 per cent saying she is starting to ruin it.
More than half said they could no longer bear to watch her pathetic efforts.
