A mum whose one-year-old boy has spent his first year in hospital has been given “the best present possible” this Christmas, after medics said he can finally go home. See NTI story NTIBABY. Jude was born nine weeks early in November 2014, but parents Deborah, 29, and Ben Parrish spent his first four hours agonising over whether he would live. He survived after being resuscitated three times, but has spent the past year breathing through a tube because of lung and airway problems. He was permanently admitted to critical care at Nottingham’s Children’s Hospital at Easter, but thanks to the tireless work of staff he will finally be home for Christmas. Mum-of-three Deborah, a carer from West Bridgford, Nottingham, said: “It’s just so nice to be able to give him a present at home.”
