These bubbly twins are more buoyant than most bouncing babies – they can already swim the length of a swimming pool at only nine months.
Ellie and William Trykush cannot sit up, crawl or walk on their own but they have stunned experts by swimming 25 metres unaided.
Proud first-time parents Vic, 49, and Charley, 35, Trykush had no idea about their twins’ special talent until they took them to a parent and baby swimming class.
Ellie and William loved the water and happily float on their backs and propel themselves along by kicking their legs.
They are now capable of swimming the entire length of the pool without help from their instructors or Vic and Charley, of Cirencester, Glos.
Stunned Charley, who runs Cirencester Cyber Cafe with Vic, said she had no idea that her twins’ talents were so extraordinary.
She said: “I thought all babies could do it.
“It wasn’t until we came to swimming lessons and people got so excited about it that we realised just how unusual it was and how clever they were.”
Ellie and William are perfectly relaxed and happy as they paddle through the water at Cirencester pool, which is owned by Cotswold District Council.
Parents Vic and Charley are also sporty – he is team manager at Cirencester Athletic Football Club and she had competed in Masters swimming events.
In 2010, they tackled a 25 mile walk together to raise money for WellChild.
Amy Stanley, who teaches the parent and baby swimming class, said she was stunned by the achievements of the twins.
She added: “Mum and dad are very very relaxed with them in the water.
“They don’t panic when they are upturned in the water, when they are not quite coming round quick enough.
“Mum and dad don’t panic they just let them come round in their own time.”

Proud father Vic, who also works as a cafe manager at Cirencester Baptist Church, hopes his water babies could reach the Olympics.
He said: “Now they can swim and seeing that they were born in an Olympic year, 2012, I would love to see them at the 2028 Olympics possibly, when they’re 16, doing the open water swim.”
Experts praised Ellie and William’s “very uncommon” swimming abilities.
Jon Glenn is head of youth and community at the ASA, the governing body for swimming in England.
He said: “It is wonderful to see how Ellie and William have taken to the water so well at such an early age.
“It’s not unheard of to have this ability at so young, but certainly very uncommon, particularly with both of the twins both being so comfortable in the water.
“We are delighted that they are enjoying their parent and child classes so much.
“We very much look forward to seeing how they progress through to the ASA Learn to Swim Framework and develop as swimmers in the future.”
