Mazda MX5 fans shouldn’t have much longer to wait for the official launch of the eagerly awaited new version of the roadster. The MK4 is set for release at the end of the year – a year in which the MX5 celebrates a significant landmark: its 25th birthday.
The fourth incarnation of the model isn’t a huge shift, in terms of design and innovation, from previous versions. After all, there’s no great need for change. Sales of the MX5 are estimated to be close to the one million mark, and it has always been a popular car, loved for its sleek, sporty look and value for money.
As the anticipation builds, why not take a look at the evolution of the model over the last quarter of a century, from launch at the 1989 Chicago Auto Show to present day, in this infographic from T W White & Sons?
