A man who boasted he wanted ”to kill as many people as Colonel Gaddafi” was found actually executing – barbie dolls, a court heard.
Richard Thomas, 61, flipped and began physically and verbally assaulting his neighbours because he thought his pet cat had been killed by a local dog.
He pointed a ball bearing gun at one neighbour and said: “You are going to pay for this, I am going to kill you, pour petrol on your bungalow and kill the lot of you”.
Officers raided his home and found dozens of Barbie Dolls – hanging from his ceiling in nooses, Truro Crown Court heard.
Prosecutor Philip Lee said Thomas had boasted he wanted to kill as many people as the former Libyan dictator Colonel Gaddafi.
Thomas, of Connor Downs, Cornwall, admitted possessing a ball-bearing gun and a sheath knife with intent to cause fear of violence and of making threats to kill.
He was sentenced him to six years in prison less 442 days already spent in prison on remand.
Detective Constable Martin Hearn said the sentence gave Thomas “an opportunity to rehabilitate and get over his problems”.
