Lister Paige with his daughter Bethan and the beginnings of their giant loom band. See SWNS story SWLOOM; A man from Mevagissey who spent nearly a year working on a 220-metre loom band to raise money for the village’s feast week has been left “gutted” after it accidentally got taken to the tip. Father-of-five Lister Paige, 48, and his family have just moved to St Stephen and during transit the giant twisted rubber band creation got mixed up with items going to the council dump. Mr Paige said: “I’ve been working on it for more than nine months and there is only a couple to go. There’s no way of getting it back or knowing where it has gone, so the challenge is over. “We lost a couple of other boxes of our own stuff as well but those things can be replaced – my loom band can’t. I’m totally gutted. I’d got quite attached to it.”
