Three-quarters of women have left a store after being ‘hassled’ by an over-zealous sales assistant, it emerged today.
A study of 2,000 females found half have dealt out a firm: ”I’m just looking, thanks” to ward off the attentions of an overzealous store worker.
And one in four said they have come within a hair’s breadth of losing their temper after ‘being followed around a shop’.
The stats emerged in a study of shoppers for online market research company www.MumPoll.com.
Researchers also found 93 per cent of people would rather be left alone to shop.
A spokesman for MumPoll said: ”Many people are made to feel guilty by over-zealous sales assistants.”
