Kaluma Travel, the luxury ski experience provider, has announced details of its week-long relaxation and health retreat to take place in Verbier, Switzerland in April.
Fresh from the inevitable excesses of the usual ski holiday – an overindulgence in the plentiful food and drink, long and exhausting days on the slopes and nowhere near enough sleep – Kaluma clients seemed to crave something a little different.
So Andy Butterworth and Richard Lumb, Kaluma’s directors, have teamed up with celebrity yoga and nutrition coach and Sweaty Betty brand ambassador, Jo Arthur, to create the exclusive health-focused Ski-tox week.

Guests will stay in the luxurious Chalet Maurine in the heart of Verbier which features a hot tub with mountain views and a steam room. They will enjoy specially-designed energising, nutrient-rich menu or smoothies, snacks and meals, and a relaxed programme of revitalising daily activities of their choice including skiing, hiking, yoga, stretching and massage.
Andy said: ‘Every one of us knows what it’s like to resolve at New Year that this is going to be our healthiest year yet, only to stumble and fall off the health wagon when it comes to a ski trip a month or two into our new regime.
‘We want to give our clients the best of both worlds, so they can supercharge their health while enjoying an invigorating mountain break. Richard and I are so excited to be partnering up with Jo on this and to be bringing this unique offering to Kaluma clients.
‘Guests will have one-on-one time with Jo, who’s an incredible nutritionist. They’ll each receive personalised health and nutrition advice based on their own needs and goals. We know this aspect of the week will be a huge attraction for our guests, so we’ve limited the retreat to just 14 spaces so that Jo can devote as much time as possible to every one of them.’
The retreat isn’t intended to be strict or prohibitive though, continues Andy.
‘Our job is to facilitate each guest’s ideal healthy week. For some, that will mean avoiding the traditional après-ski haunts and abstaining from the usual drinking, but other guests have told us that they might like to combine their healthy week with a little indulgence. So we’ve decided to cater for everyone, and during the week unlimited organic natural, sugar-free wine will be available for all guests.’
