A boyfriend got to grips with married life by proposing – at a wrestling party.
Devoted Joe McGregor, 25, popped the question to Amy Foster, 25, while they were both dressed as their favourite World Wrestling Entertainment stars.
Loved-up Joe was dressed as wrestling star John Cena and surprised girlfriend of eight years Amy, who was wearing an AJ Lee costume.
Joe got down on one knee in front of friends and family at a WWE-themed fancy dress party.
Civil servant Amy, 28, of Sheffield said: “In the world of wrestling, AJ proposed to several people over the last few months including Cena.
“So I thought it would be funny if we dressed up as a wrestling couple – little did I know what Joe had up his sleeve. I almost fainted when he proposed to me.
“It was the most romantic moment of my life. Joe has always loved wrestling and he got me into it. My biggest dream is that one of them will turn up at the wedding.”
Bricklayer Joe, 25, and Amy, who have a three-year-old daughter, will wed on October 26, 2013 – to coincide with the World Wrestling Entertainment tour to Britain.
Amy decided to host the wrestling party to try to win a competition to meet their favourite stars, run in conjunction with new wrestling game WWE13.
She said: “As soon as Joe got down on one knee, all thoughts of the competition were gone from my mind.
“He’s the best prize I could ever ask for – he’s my wrestling champion.”
