Motorists saw red this monring when a lorry overturned – and spilled 44 tons of paint.
The HGV crashed near junction 17 on the A1 near Peterborough, Cambs., around 5am, forcing the closure of the souithbound carriageway.
Drivers were diverted as a hazardous materials firecrew was called out to make the area safe.

Cambridgeshire police said: “A lorry has overturned on the southbound carriageway of the A1.
“Damage is only to the lorry and the road will be closed for some time. Cars are being diverted to the A47.”
Cambridgeshire fire and rescue service added: “Three crews and a hazardous materials team attended the incident.
“This was a lorry that had overturned and a mixed load was spilled onto the carriageway.
“It was believed to be 44 tons of paint which was not spreading on the carriageway.”
The driver is not thought to be injured.
