Furious chat show queen Lorraine Kelly has called in her lawyers over a “cheeky” advert which implies she backs the use of weight-loss pills.
A picture of Lorraine has appeared on an advert on Facebook which leads to a website selling weight-loss supplements.
She has asked her lawyers to find out who made the advert, which reads: “Lose two stone in four weeks? By following these two all natural tips, she lost two stone in four weeks.”
Lorraine, 53, told her almost 350,000 followers on Twitter that it was “very cheeky indeed”.
She then stated: “This is nothing to do with me. Please ignore – lawyers on it.”
The advert is linked to a webpage which claims users of their diet pills have become “fat burning machines”.
Two websites are recommended for viewers to visit, one of which sells Mizulean Pro and claims to be the “number one miracle fat-burner in a bottle”.
The other offers Pura Cleanse tablets which are advertised as a “unique colon cleanser…that help flush harmful food waste and toxins”.
While “trial” packages are priced at £3.48 the small print states that if the person doesn’t cancel the subscription after 14 days they will automatically charge your credit card £69.95 for one jar of pills.
The original advert on Facebook includes the website address for an exclusive health club in London called Ozone Health and Fitness.
Lorraine’s staff have contacted the Kings Cross club, but manager Arend Wissing stresses he knew nothing of the adverts existence.
He said: It looks like a weight loss advertising webpage and it is in no way linked to ours.
“I’ve submitted a report to Facebook and told them our website address has been used unlawfully because we have had absolutely nothing to do with it.”
Last year Lorraine revealed she lost two dress sizes after taking part in a desert trek in Kenya for Comic Relief.
