A backing singer raped a teenage groupie after luring her to his hotel on the promise of meeting rap star Lethal Bizzle, a court heard.
Carlos Reynolds, 29, invited three female fans back to his room for a party after performing alongside the chart-topping grime artist.
Reynolds promised they would get to meet their dance music idol – real name Maxwell Ansah, 29.
But after the girls arrived to find just Reynolds and a friend he took a 19-year-old into the bathroom and attacked her, Plymouth Crown Court heard.
The backing singer of Leyton, East London, denies raping the teenager on October 4, 2012 after the pair had met at a rap event at the city’s Oceana nightclub.
Llewellyn Sellick, prosecuting, told the court that the victim and two friends talked to Reynolds and another man after the show.
They took photographs together and the 19-year-old exchanged mobile numbers with Reynolds.
The other two friends met “Pow (Forward)” singer Lethal Bizzle in the VIP lounge but the alleged victim stayed outside.
Mr Sellick said: “The defendant invited him back to his hotel for a party.
“They discussed it and they felt safe and they thought there would be other people there.
“The defendant stated Lethal Bizzle himself would be there.”
Mr Sellick said the three women accompanied Reynolds and another man in a people carrier back to Plymouth’s Copthorne Hotel.
But there was no party in the room, only Reynolds and his friend Ashley Walker.
The court heard Reynolds then invited the 19-year-old into the bathroom, where she agreed to perform a sex act upon him.
But when she repeatedly said “no” he pulled down her trousers and raped her.
The court heard that the women left the room and the police were quickly called.
Mr Sellick said Reynolds admitted in police interview to going back to his room with the teenager but denied that the rape took place.
The alleged victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons, gave evidence through a pre-recorded police video interview.
She said Reynolds was “nice” at first but said the “atmosphere changed” when they got into the car to go to the hotel.
She denied going with him for sex, insisting: “We were going to meet Lethal Bizzle – that was the aim.
“We thought because we were going together, we would be safe. We were not going to stay long.
“We came back to their hotel room and we were thinking: ‘Where’s the party?'”
The teenager said Reynolds repeatedly asked her to go into the bathroom with him and she eventually agreed.
The woman said: “He closed the door and stood against the door. I thought: ‘What am I doing here?’
“At that moment I knew something was going to happen. I didn’t know what to do.”
She said she voluntarily performed a sex act, but felt that “she could not say no”.
The woman said that Reynolds then raped her.
The trial continues.
