This is the moment an ultra-rare Lamborghini was destroyed after catching fire while being raced at more than 110mph.
Jason White was driving his beloved £300,000 Lamborghini Gallardo Super Trofeo in a difficult road race.
And as he negotiated the route with uncle, John, who was navigating, the Italian supercar suddenly started to overheat.
Huge flames spewed out of the back of the Lamborghini and they were forced to pull over and jump out, leaving the car to burn to the ground.
Both Jason, 41, and John, 64, were uninjured following the unfortunate incident which took place in the Targa Wrest Rally in Tasmania, Australia.
But the car, one of just 150, appears to be beyond repair with the entire rear of it gutted by the blaze.
Jason told The Tasmanian Mercury: “When your rear view mirrors glow orange, it’s a bad sign.
“There was just a massive fireball out the back. The car is completely written off from the seats back.
“We’ve had the car on fire once before, at Mt Buller, which was a reasonable size fire. But that was a candle compared to this one.
“I drove it until the chassis rails melted off it and that’s what stopped us from rolling to the point where the fire truck was.
“The suspension mounts didn’t have anything to hold on to anymore because the chassis melted away and the wheels basically fell off.”
The Lamborghini Gallardo Super Trofeo Stradale is powered by a 5-litre V10 engine which develops 570bhp.
This accelerates the road-legal race car from 0-62mph in 3.4 seconds and onto a top speed of 198mph.
