Meet the jobless teenager who spends his dole money buying fake Twitter followers… because he wants to be famous

A jobless wannabe who is desperate to be famous has spent hundreds of pounds of his dole money – on fake Twitter followers.

Kieran Miller, 19, has splashed out around £300 on nearly 300,000 fake followers to boost his profile on the social networking site.

He describes himself as being a “TV personality” – despite only one on-screen appearance four years ago when he briefly appeared on a youth politics show.

But Kieran – who can’t sing, dance or act – is determined to make it to the big time and emulate his favourite star, Real Housewives of New Jersey trollop Danielle Staub.

He splashes out up to £100-at-a-time of taxpayers’ money on thousands of Twitter followers using website www.seoclerks.com

Unemployed Kieran, from South Shields, Tyne and Wear,  said: “I’m doing whatever it takes to become a star.

“Now that I have 350,000 Twitter followers, more people can see me, so people who wouldn’t follow me before will follow me now.

“Twitter is a massive part of my life now.”

A typical day for Kieran, who has dedicated his life to becoming famous since he left college two years ago, starts at noon when he wakes up.

He said: “I spend hours looking at star websites, applying for all the reality jobs I can find.

“I really want to get on Celebrity Big Brother. I’d be great at it, and people would love me.

“I’m not really looking for work. I put all my efforts into becoming famous.”

Kieran’s favourite celebrity, and person he’d most like to be, is reality star-turned-stripper Danielle Staub.

He said: “She’s getting people to follow her life just by being herself. She’s like an open book – that’s what I want to be.

“I want to be famous more than anything else.

“I don’t like Kanye West or a lot of footballers though.”

Kieran, who has posted dozens of videos on YouTube talking about his own ‘star power’, lives with his unemployed mum Kelly Miller, 37.

He said: “I hardly ever go out – my life is online, trying to make it big.

“I don’t know if I can sing, dance or act or nothing, but it probably won’t stop me.

“I’ve been dreaming of this since I was 16, and nothing will stop me.”

The fake Twitter followers Kieran spends his dole money on are created by users of the online marketplace, who then sell ‘follows’ for a premium price.

It costs around £100 for 100,000 followers but Twitter administrators periodically delete fake accounts, so Kieran’s followers have recently dipped from 350,000 to 280,000 now.

Fame flop Kieran, who studied nursing before quitting to pursue his dream full-time, said:
“All I want to be is famous.

“And I don’t care how. Ideally, I’d like to be the next big reality TV star.”
