A bird was just a feather away from death after it swooped into the path of an ambulance and became wedged in its front grill – but miraculously SURVIVED.
Paramedics were given a shock after travelling on the M53 near Warrington, Merseyside, and finding a kestrel latched on to the bright yellow vehicle.

The North West Ambulance Service vehicle had been the savior for the brown bird after it managed to withstand the 70mph speeds while strapped to the front of the van.
RSPCA officers quickly attended to bird and rescued it from the vehicle.
A spokesperson added: “The kestrel is currently with us and recovering well.”
