Kayakers get the fright of their lives after coming face-to-face with a giant SHARK

This is the moment a party of kayakers enjoying an evening paddle came face-to-face – with a massive SHARK.

The huge basking shark came within yards of the group off the coastal town of Peel on the Isle of Man.

This group of kayakers got the fright of their lives when they were joined in the sea by a massive basking shark

But there was no ‘Jaws-style’ panic as the giant fish calmly tucked into plankton – leaving the awestruck kayakers free to take photos.

The Isle of Man becomes a haven for basking sharks every summer as they swim close to shore to feed on tiny fishes and marine organisms.

The group of kayakers overcame the initial shock and were able to paddle around the shark

Kayaker Keirron Tastagh, founder of Adventurous Experiences, said: “We couldn’t believe our luck when the shark started gliding between the kayaks, getting up close to some and even closer to others.

“It was very inquisitive. I knew we had a chance of seeing the sharks so I brought my camera with me, but I certainly didn’t expect it to stay with us for so long. It was an awesome experience that none of us will forget.”
