Katie Price has given Channel 4 until 5pm today to apologise for a filthy comment made by Frankie Boyle about the reality star’s disabled son or she will complain to OFCOM.
On Tuesday night’s episode of Frankie Boyle’s Tramadol Nights, the Scottish comedian made an outrageous sexual assault-related joke about Price’s eight-year-old son Harvey.
The 38-year-old said: “I have a theory about the reason Jordan married a cage fighter – she needed a man strong enough to stop Harvey from f**king her.”
Boyle’s shocking joke followed another controversial line about autistic Harvey, who suffers from various medical problems.
He said: “Jordan and Peter Andre are still fighting each other over custody of Harvey – eventually one of them will lose and have to keep him.”
Now Price’s lawyers have given the broadcaster until 5pm to apologise or she will make a formal complaint to OFCOM, the broadcasting watchdog.
Katie and Harvey’s lawyer Mark Bateman of Archerfield Partners said: “It is true we have given Channel 4 until 5pm to make a voluntary apology and are instructed to write to OFCOM if that does not happen.
“Channel 4 have got this horribly wrong if they think their actions are defensible because Boyle is high profile or because he has made this so called joke before.
“To ridicule disability in general is bad enough but to single out a young child as courageous and vulnerable as Harvey is cowardly.
“This attack is not an attack on a high profile individual it is an attack on a disabled child. With free speech comes responsibility and Channel 4 have shown themselves to be plainly irresponsible.
“Channel 4 seem to think issues of disability are less deserving than issues of racism or sex but this is simply discrimination.
“The BBC sacked a senior producer and forced the resignations of Russell Brand and Jonathan Ross over sexual comments made on a radio show.
“This is far more serious, and simply cannot be brushed under the carpet by Channel Four.”
Go for it Katie.
If you don’t defend your’e son . Who will.
Disgusting.
waaah waaah waah!
Boo hoo katie, get over it. If you don’t like it,change the channel!
The difference between this and the Brand/Ross affair is that Andrew Sachs is a national treasure, and Katie Price is a dirty scrag.
Ha, this is fantastic. Hopefully Channel 4 won’t buckle to this dumb bint’s “demands”.
You are obviously an utterly stupid low life cretin as well as a coward to have to defend such a nasty bullying attack on a disabled child. How would like it if you had a disabled child or brother? Don’t you think disabled children have enough to cope with without the senseless cruelty of scumbags like you.
Just some simple minded people just can’t see what that twat boyle said, its an attack on a child with a disability. How you feel or what you think of katie price in not the issue, or does the height of your intelligence not go that far. What he said about that that child is an utter disgrace and if you can’t see that, then its obvious you have no kids,or I pity the kids you bring into this world, with warped values like that. So you go girl, take him to the cleaners and don’t accept his apology.
frankie boyle is one of the best comedians in the country currently however sometime’s he tries to be offensive for the sake of being controversial however this time he’s crossed the line. Slag of katie price all you want however there was no need to bring her son into his comedy.
boo hoo jordan…you shudn’t have put your son in the public eye to get sympathy about your life in your cringe worthy self promoting show..its a harsh world as im sure your not to naive to realise…regardless of how low the joke maybe, its a joke and everyone who laughed, laughed at the joke not the disabilty. Not everyone will be as sympathetic as the mugs who want to be you.
As the parent of an autistic child i find frankie boyles ‘humour’ very sad. He must be very desperate for attention that he is prepared to stoop to such levels to gain recognition, i.e the most vulnerable in society. I believe you are talented and are letting yourself down badly by causing upset. If you gain notoriety and fame by bullying the most vulnerable people. Have faith in your own talent and please don’t let yourself down by acting like a bully in a glass house and attacking defenceless youngsters for your own ego. It is hurtful to the parents of these children and makes our job as parents very hard. If your own child was born with a disability maybe you would understand. these children are not able to fight for themseves and people like you make things very difficult to ignore prejudices that you have proved do exist. My son is autistic and has no prejudices.. He just likes nice people.. maybe you can learn something from him frankie.
I am so glad I have never watched this trash, to call it comedy would seem to me to be a gross misrepresentation. Whatever anyones opinion of Katie Price is, surely no normal human being would sanction the use of a disabled child as supposed comedy. It is just disgusting & not in the least bit funny!
I watched the show because I normally find Frankie Boyle very funny even though I had heard disappointing reports of the first episode. This was cringeworthy – the overriding theme appeared to consist of little more than bullying anyone that was vulnerable. His comments about Katie Price’s disabled son were extraordinarily offensive. Playground humour and behaviour.
HAHAAAHAHAHA so funny! Silly harvey :L
Yeah, Disabled children have enough to cope with, and one of my best friends has an autistic daughter, but all i’m going to say is….do you peole really think Harvey cares? HELL NO, he is 8 people! he is playing his freakin x-box and still learning his kindergarten math. It’s obviously Katie Price that cares, not her son. What a great lesson to teach her son by the way, “This guy just used his freedom of speech to say something bad about my family, lets get him fired because i’m an inseccure dingus” What a great parent
Yeah, playing x-box and licking windows..
Total bullshit! She is only famous for marrying a celebrity, and now that she isnt, she is trying to get as much attention as humanly possible.
