As the Royal Wedding date draws nearer, Kate Middleton obsessives hungry for details of her big day will be excited to learn that the vehicles she will arrive and leave the ceremony in have been unveiled.
Kate will roll up to Westminster Abbey by car and later leave as a married woman in the same carriage Charles and Diana used in 1981.
The 1902 State Landau was originally made for Edward VII’s coronation, and has an open top so eager crowds can get a good look at the newlyweds.
Four coaches will follow them carrying Best Man Prince Harry, Maid of Honour Pippa Middleton, the bridesmaids and pageboys, Kate’s parents, Charles and Camilla and The Queen and Prince Philip.
Kate’s switch from petrol to horse power on the day will, according to the Daily Mail, symbolise her ascendance from ‘commoner’ to Royalty.
And the Rolls Royce chosen for her grand entrance is the same vehicle which Charles and Camilla were sat in when they were famously mobbed by protestors during the student riots last year.
The £1 million Phantom VI – a present to Her Majesty to mark her 1977 silver jubilee – is currently out of action as it is still being repaired.
A spokesperson explained: “It’s not extensive, it’s just minor damage following the incident before Christmas. It will be ready in time.”
However, there’s still not a peep from the palace regarding the most hotly-anticipated detail of the day – what Kate’s wedding dress will look like or who will design it.
I think it”s great that the Nation will come together for this Royal Wedding
which will be shown around the World. I wish William and Kate every happiness and they have already proved they are a down to Earth couple……more than
can be said for some Celebrities who earn outrageous fortunes.
