Jersey Shore star Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi has hit the big time with her first-ever Rolling Stone cover.
The pint-sized reality star was shot by photographer Mark Seliger and opened up during an interview about life in front of the cameras.
She said: “[Being constantly filmed] messes with your head. That’s why we go crazy. That’s why we fight with each other. That’s why we drink.
“We can’t have cellphones, TV, radio, or the internet. If the president died, we’d have no idea. There’s no normalcy. It’s like prison, but with cameras.”
She also admitted that seeing herself on screen isn’t always a comfortable experience, saying: “If I do something stupid, which is pretty much the whole time, I hate it.
“Obviously they’re only going to put the good stuff in, and the good stuff is us drunk, so all I’m seeing is me drunk and falling down.
“That’s how I am when I party, but some of the stuff I do is like ‘Really, Nicole?’ I look like a freakin’ alcoholic.”
Snooki, 23, who recently scored a New York Times bestseller with her debut novel A Shore Thing, also revealed she plans to build a business empire to rival other famous-for-being-famous celebs such as Kim Kardashian or Paris Hilton.
“What I’d like is to end up like Jessica Simpson, with her whole brand. She makes millions,” she explained.
“I’m trying to build an empire, because after this I can’t do a normal job. I mean, how do I go and sit behind a desk?”
The cast of the MTV show have managed to earn a fortune despite not receiving much in the way of wages from the channel.
As well as her book, Snooki charges up to $20,000 for public appearances and has a jewellery range as well as a spin-off series with her co-star Jwoww.
Snooki said: “One day, I’ll be able to say: ‘Grandma was famous at one point, famous for her hair and partying at the Jersey Shore.'”
