Formula One star Jenson Button is selling his Nissan GT-R supercar – with just 1,600 miles on the clock.
The Frome flier has decided it’s time to part ways with the matte black Nissan after only owning it for a little-longer than 12 months.
Button bought the £65,000 supercar towards the end of 2009 after being crowned Formula One World Champion.
He opted to have the ’59’ plate car covered in a matte black wrap and matching black alloys – giving it a meaner look to match its aggressive performance.
Under the bonnet of the Nissan GT-R is a 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged V6 engine which develops an almighty 480bhp.
This power accelerates the Japanese supercar from 0-62mph in just 3.5 seconds and all the way to a top speed of 193mph.
The Nissan GT-R received huge acclaim when it went on sale in 2008 – with critics praising its amazing value-for-money performance.
Top Gear’s Jeremy Clarkson described it as “an extraordinary car, quite unlike anything I’ve driven before”.
It then got the ultimate seal of approval when newly-crowned Formula One World Champion Jenson Button decided to buy one with his hard-earned cash.
But now Button has decided it’s time for him and his Nissan to go their separate ways – with the 30-year-old multi-millionaire sportsman not having the spare time to enjoy the car’s performance.
It’s being sold through Suffolk-based Steve Hurn Specialist Cars for just £49,995.
Steve said: “This is a great opportunity to get your hands on a used Nissan GT-R with such a low mileage.
“It’s an absolutely stunning vehicle and the fact it’s owned by one of motorsport’s best drivers makes it all the more desirable.”
Button has had a string of incredible cars through the years, owning a Mercedes CLK DTM AMG, Ferrari Enzo, Ferrari 550 Maranello, Ford GT, Porsche Carrera GT and Bugatti Veyron.
he owned ENZO and VEYRON? no wonder he dissed this awesome car 🙁
That is just about the coolest looking car around. But if you have an Enzo and Veyron, guess it’s not much.
I guess he decided the “budget” super car wasn’t much of a bargain after pricing a brake job — $7500 US.
I can say the Nissan GT-R as one wide variety model.
As it contains 480 hp, I think it is one efficient model.
yes please, the Stormgirl logo will fit perfectly on this bad boy!
If I had the money…I would buy a better car for the same amount.
