Jennifer Aniston has revealed how she confronted celebrity blogger Perez Hilton over his bullying ways.
The former Friends actress, 41, spoke on The Ellen Degeneres Show about her showdown with the self-titled ‘Queen of all media’, who has a reputation has one of the internet’s nastiest bloggers, during a chance encounter.
She said: “I ran in to Perez Hilton in a garage. One of those moments you never expect to happen.
“I had just finished dinner with a girlfriend and we were driving out and I saw this tall, lean, long person and I say, ‘Who is that?’ and she says, “I think that’s Perez Hilton.” I said, ‘No. I have to say something to him. I have to.’
“So I pulled up and we were sort of scoping each other out as I was pulling the car up. I just rolled down the window and I was like, ‘Hi.’ And he went, ‘Hi.’ We just stood there like two dears in headlights.
“And I just said, ‘Come here. Just talk to me for a second.’ It was one of those great moments. It was a lovely meeting and I was just like, ‘Why are you so mean?’”
Jen’s words may have had an effect, because in October last year Perez went on The Ellen Degeneres Show himself to announce that he wanted to tone down the spiteful comments.
He told the host: “In the last two weeks I have been doing everything I can to bring awareness to the teen suicides and gay bullying.
“In doing so, a lot of people have called me a hypocrite and a bully myself and a big one… From now on I really want to be part of the solution and not part of the problem.”
The catty queen has so far stuck to his word, taking a far less harsh tone on his blog.
