X Factor rejects Jedward are following in the footsteps of P. Diddy and Gwen Stefani by releasing their own fashion line.
And the collection, dubbed ‘Pop Icons’, will be inspired by music greats Michael Jackson and Freddie Mercury.
Edward Grimes told The Sun: “Fashion is our big passion and our collection will look hot on the catwalk.
“We love the jackets worn by Michael Jackson and Freddie Mercury and think everybody will love to wear stuff like that.”
The twin’s new fame bid comes after their debut album Planet Jedward’ only reached number 17 in the UK charts.
A source claimed “the boys’ 15 minutes of fame are almost up” which would confirm why manager Louis Walsh will be keen to bring the clothes out onto the high street quickly.
Grimes added he and brother John could be modelling the new collection as both are signed to agency Next Models.
He said: “We have experience. We know how to pose and walk, plus we’ve worked with some big-name photographers.”
Jedward are the latest personalities to get a finger in the fashion pie.
Two of the latest to turn a hand to couture conception include Disney queen bee Miley Cyrus and Madonna’s pup and protégé Lourdes.
Gwen Stefani and P.Diddy make millions from their on-the-side fashion labels and Elle ‘The Body’ McPherson designs fancy lingerie. British supermodel Kate Moss has a fashion line with Topshop.
Time will tell as to whether the Irish duo’s range will be seen in the same light as the work of couture kingpins such as McCartney, Lagerfield and McQueen.
