Pop superstars Kanye West, Jay Z and wife Beyonce have been spotted browsing for ANTIQUES in historic Bath.
The trio are rumoured to have partied in the trendy Po Na Na nightclub and have soaked up the city’s famous cafe culture.
Kanye and Jay Z are recording an album together called Watch The Throne at Peter Gabrial’s Real World Studios in nearby Box, Wiltshire.
They are believed to be staying in the luxurious Royal Crescent Hotel, where suites cost up to £1,000 per night.
Locals have reported blacked-out Mercedes limousines outside the premises.
Guest Tina Henley, 59, said her granddaughter Amy is a huge Beyonce fan and had heard the stars were residing there for a couple of days.
She said: ”This is the second time I’ve stayed here and it’s great to think we’ve got Beyonce here.
”Another guest said she thought she saw her glimpse of her. It’s ashame it wasn’t me, Amy would have been overwhelmed!”
The hotel’s marketing manager, Laura Benham, would not confirm or deny if the stars had been staying there.
She said: ”We’re as popular as ever here and our guests love the exclusivity and anonymity that the hotel gives them.”
Chef James Ball, 21, said his friends had spotted the threesome in and around Bath.
He said: ”It’s great to have a bit of r’n’b in Bath. They were seen walking down by the Odeon cinema and were in Po Na Na’s nightclub. They’ve been here since the weekend.”
Michela Bertona, supervisor at coffee shop Jika Jika on George St, said a regular had seen the stars enter the shop.
She said: ”A regular tweeted he’d seen them here. I wasn’t on duty at the time when they were supposedly here but we’ve had lots of fans and teenagers ringing in asking if they’ve been in.”
Bookshop manager John Sayer said they’d also visited antiques shop in the historic streets near the Abbey.
He added: ”They were definitely in the antiques shops, a lot of people have said they spotted them. It’s not really unusual for Bath, there’s always stars milling about.”
The new tracks were recorded at the Real World Studios in the village of Box five miles away.
Roger Bolton, a regular at the local pub the Queen’s Head, said the Mercedes had been seen in the vicinity too.
He said: ”They haven’t popped in for a pint but there’s 17 recording studios around here.
”We’ve had Tom Jones and Marti Pellow in the pub here before and Goldfrapp are based here.”
The studios would not comment if the stars had used the base but West posted a picture of the studio that appears similar to one of those on the Real World studios’ website.
