Jade Goody’s mum Jakiey Budden and widower Jack Tweed managed to avoid a nasty confrontation at the reality star’s grave on the second anniversary of her death yesterday.
The pair missed each other by 15 minutes when they both visited Epping Forest Burial Park to lay flowers two years to the day after Jade died of cervical cancer.
Jackiey, who has criticised Jack for his playboy lifestyle since Jade’s death , told The Sun: “It’s a good job I missed him or I’d have kicked off. I’m glad he’s gone.”
The 53-year-old also spoke of her continued struggle with her loss, admitting: “Two years and it’s getting harder. I’m grieving even more than I did last year.”
Earlier that day Jack took to his Twitter account to pay his respects, saying: “Two years today, never forgotten, miss you. X”
He later thanked wellwishers for their support, posting: “Thanks for everyone’s kind words today means a lot.”
Jack married Jade in a televised ceremony just one month before she lost her battle with cancer at the age of 27.
Her two sons, Bobby and Freddy, are also thought to have visited her grave yesterday.
Their dad Jeff Brazier, who has full custody of them both, told Now magazine: “We’ll mark the day and lay flowers as we regularly do, but it’ll be more out of respect for her.
“We talk about Jade every day. It’s very important to keep her memory alive.”
Jade is thought to have saved the lives of hundreds of young women through raising awareness of cervical cancer and the importance of undergoing screenings.
