I’m A Celebrity bosses have revealed the full line-up for the new series, which returns to our screens this weekend.
Last year’s X Factor finalist Stacey Solomon will be among the ten jungle-bound celebrities, along with by Gazza’s ex Sheryl Gascoigne, Playboy model Kayla Collins, actress Britt Eckland and former happy Mondays star Shaun Ryder.
Former Olympic medallist Linford Christie, ex Lib Dem MP Lembit Opik, actor Nigel Harves, TV nutritionist Gillian Mckeith and aspiring rapper Aggro Santos will also be appearing.
Relative unknown Kayla Collins, a playboy model, was drafted in as a replacement for Gail Porter, who quit the line up at the last minute.
Ditzy Essex girl Stacey, who made the final three on last year’s X Factor, is already the favourite to wine with bookies already rating her odds at 3/1.
Rupert Adams, spokesperson for William Hill bookmakers, said: “Our theory is that because I’m A Celebrity starts straight after X Factor, people will tune in from X Factor and see Stacey who was an X Factor favourite, and she will have an immediate advantage.”
Stacey confirmed she cannot wait for the series to begin.
She said: “Everything about it appeals to me. I watched it for years and years and years. And finally I’ve got the opportunity to go. How could I say no?
“I’m very very very excited about going in the jungle. Oh my god! I’d love to be queen of the jungle – I’ll try really really hard to make that happen!”
However TV nutritionist Gillian Mckeith – who famously had to drop her ‘Dr’ title – showed she was more than a little unprepared when she admitted she had never seen the show properly and believes it is filmed on set.
She said: “It’s a TV set, right? There must be a fridge and cooker. I’ve always thought of it like the houses on Coronation Street. The houses on Coronation Street aren’t real. People don’t live in them. It’s the same with this show, isn’t it? It’s a TV set.”
