Cambridge based headphones brand Urbanz has launched its latest product. Extreme Bluetooth Headphones are now available online and will soon be available in selected stores across Europe.
Extreme is Urbanz’s first Bluetooth sport headphone model, designed for seriously sporty people. The headphones feature a robust yet flexible neckband frame, a secure fin ear-hook to lock into a user’s ear and have an IPX6 waterproof rating. The IPX6 rating sets the Extreme apart from other Bluetooth sports headphones as they have been specifically designed and manufactured to work in wet conditions; from jogging in light drizzle to sprinting in a downpour. To get this rating a product needs to undergo rigorous tests, one of which was exposing the headphones to powerful jets spraying at least 100 litres of water over its outer casing without any water penetrating. Not even in the UK do we get rain this bad!
During the research and development phase, Urbanz issued a number of Extreme headphones to be tested by members of running and triathlon clubs who really put the products through their paces. Frank McManus from Glasgow stating that he was “really impressed with the quality and how easy they were to connect,” whilst Brian Hood from Nottingham picked out that the headphones were “unaffected by external noise and strong wind” which supports their durability in extreme conditions.

Extreme is compatible with IOS and Android devices with Bluetooth connectivity. The Bluetooth setup takes seconds and the connection is strong, ensuring ‘no drop’ or intermittent performance.
