Terrified teachers and pupils locked themselves in classrooms after a half-naked maniac rampaged through a school threatening them with a knife.
It is believed the man flew into a rage after being dumped by his 18-year-old girlfriend who is a student at Hereford College of Arts.
After stalking the corridors with a knife he was finally apprehended when cops armed with tasers cornered him in the reception area.
A student, who did not want to be named, said: ”The man was taking his clothes off and was waving either a knife or a razor blade threatening to cut himself and other people.
”He was ranting about some girl who had broken his heart and how he couldn’t live without her.
”He then started shouting ‘bitch’ over and over again.
”The police definitely had a taser when they finally confronted him, it was really scary.”
Superintendent Charlie Hill, Herefordshire’s new territorial policing commander for West Mercia Police, confirmed a Taser X26 was drawn by cops during the incident on October 5.
He said: ”A taser was drawn, but if it was used or not I’m not sure.”
A teacher, who did not want to be named, said she was certain a taser had been used.
She said: ”I and a number of colleagues witnessed the taser being used and the man dropped on the floor.
”The police officers shouted a warning while holding the taser and when the man failed to comply they shot the taser at him.
”He dropped to the floor and the officers slapped handcuffs on him.”
None of the 800 students were harmed in the incident.
