A long abandoned village levelled to make way for a runway has revealed its terrifying secret – a spooky image of a ghost.
Google Earth’s satellite imaging software clearly shows the 15ft tall shadow of a man in the ruins of an old farmhouse.
The homestead of Charlton Village on the outskirts of Bristol was abandoned in 1946 to make way for Filton Airfield.

Charlton used to have a pub, a pond and a couple of cottages and farmhouses, but they were all demolished during the expansion of the runway.
Now, all that remains are roads overgrown with grass and weeds and the shell of a farmhouse – which the ‘ghost’ calls home.
The spooky figure, who appears to be wearing a 1940’s-style flat cap, appears as a dark shadow in a corner of the farmhouse.
