A kind-hearted youngster gave away his brand new scooter by leaving it outside a shop with a note reading: “Free to a little boy/girl who is not lucky enough to have one.”
Generous Max, six, was given a new scooter for his birthday when he already had one, leaving him with a spare.
He then decided that a family who couldn’t afford one should benefit from his excess, so his parents put together a plan.
They agreed with a local shop in Trispen, Cornwall, to leave the scooter outside with a note attached saying it was free to take.
The note read: “Free to a little boy/girl who is not lucky enough to have one. Love Max W.”
After a quick trip out the family returned to Trispen to find the scooter had already gone, and a thank you note was left in its place.
The note read: “Thank you so much Max! I love my new scooter. Love Ayla.”
Max’s mum Deborah said the six year old has always been generous and they were thrilled someone had benefited – and would love to hear from Ayla.
“He realised he couldn’t have two scooters so he said he wanted to give it to another boy or girl who didn’t have one,” she said.
“The reaction has been amazing.
“We’ve had so many different people liking and commenting on the post on Facebook and people I don’t even know have said what a kind thing it was for him to do.
“I’m very proud of him. He’s my little superstar. There are kind people out there.”
Asked if he had a message for Ayla, Max said: “I hope you enjoy it.”
