A fitness fanatic is literally ditching the rat race to run seven marathons in seven days – on a giant HAMSTER WHEEL.
Madcap Stuart Kettell, 46, spent four months building the 8ft wooden and metal wheel outside his home.
He is now using it to train to run the equivalent of seven marathons in seven days – a staggering 190 miles.
Stuart said: ”I have done marathons before and never wanted to run another one the next day so this is going to be tough, especially as I’ll be running on an incline in the wheel.
”It does feel strange in it and you get a bit of motion sickness as it is going round in front of you.”
Dad-of-two Stuart, from Binley, Coventry, will spend 12 hours a day running in the wheel to complete the challenge in March next year.
He said: ”The kids think it is great having it on the drive but my wife is quite embarrassed about it all.
”People have been beeping their horns as they drive past me and I get a crowd of kids watching me who get quite mesmerised by it.”
It is not the first wacky stunt Stuart, a film producer, has taken on for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Earlier this year he spent a week in a perspex box suspended from a crane in Coventry city centre.
In 2008 he also hit the headlines when he cycled from Lands End to John O’Groats on a penny farthing.
