A website poking fun at Chelsea flop Fernando Torres has become an Internet sensation – despite only featuring a single word.
More than 850,000 people have logged onto the site called ‘Has Torres Scored for Chelsea?‘.
The one-page website is simply a white background with the word ‘NO’ written in large black letters.
A staggering 250,000 fans logged onto the site after Chelsea’s Champions League defeat to Man United last week.
Torres, 27, signed for Chelsea from Liverpool for £50million in January but has failed to score in nine games.
To add insult to injury, a similar site was been set up for Torres’ replacement at Liverpool – £35 million Andy Carroll.
Entitled ‘Has Carroll Scored for Liverpool?‘, it simply features a white screen with the word ‘YES’.
The hilarious Torres site was the brainchild of Liverpool fan Nick Miners, a 38-year-old I.T worker from Watford.
He said: ”I thought it would be a bit of fun and it’s gone totally crazy – beyond anything I expected.”
The sites can be visited at www.hastorresscoredforchelsea.com and www.hascarrollscoredforliverpool.com.
Torres needs time…… Time to work out why he left a world renowned club to join chavski. The place where the fans find plastic flags under their seats on champions league games! The place where fans expect European cup success regardless of the fact they’ve never won one. The place where fans that take a Liverpool el niño banner and dye it blue, only to forget that they left a picture of the shankly gates on it! (thanks for the southern representation boys ) . The reason Chelsea haven’t won the European cup is because their support is grim and over-demanding. Remember the Glenn huddle management days? Nah , didn’t think so ! You probably all supported fulham back then.
