Desperate David Fish, 47, was left with bruising and bloodshot eyes after a communications mix up between him and his wife, consultants and security staff. His wife, Beverley, 42, was left with a black eye from the incident, which happened as the couple tried to take their premature daughter home for the first time. The couple, from Fishponds, Bristol, were initially told they could take their daughter, Ellie-Suzanne, then five months, home from hospital by a consultant in charge of her care.
