Elton John has confessed that rapper Eminem sent him a rather rude gift for his civil partnership to David Furnish.
The singing legend told Rolling Stone magazine: “He’s got a great sense of humour. When David and I had our civil partnership, he sent us a present.
“In a case, on velvet cushions, were two diamond c**k rings. So there’s a homophobe for you!”
The pair famously performed a duet of Eminem’s hit Stan at the 2001 Grammy awards after the hip hop star was accused of homophobia.
Elton has been a staunch defender of Eminem, insisting that the rapper is “not hateful”, and explained to the magazine how the pair enjoy a close friendship.
He said: “We have such a laugh. We call each other c**ks. I ask him how he’s doing and tell him how proud I am of him.
“I love him. I don’t see much of Marshall, but we speak a lot. He’s really worked very hard at [sobriety], and it’s changed him so much. I just saw a picture of him in a magazine, and he looks like a 17-year-old boy. I’m so happy for him.”
Eminem is expected to perform again at this year’s Grammy’s, where he has been nominated for a staggering ten awards.
